What is Microsoft .NET Framework?

The Microsoft .NET Framework is a software component which can be added to the Microsoft Windows operating system. It provides a large body of pre-coded solutions to common program requirements, and manages the execution of programs written specifically for the framework. The .NET Framework is a key Microsoft offering, and is intended to be used by most new applications created for the Windows platform.

 

System Requirements

·Supported Operating Systems: Windows 2000 Service Pack 3; Windows 98; Windows 98 Second Edition; Windows ME; Windows Server 2003; Windows XP Service Pack 2
·Required Software:

o Windows Installer 3.0 (except for Windows 98/ME, which require Windows Installer 2.0 or later). Windows Installer 3.1 or later is recommended.

o IE 5.01 or later: You must also be running Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 or later for all installations of the .NET Framework.

Where can I get the free download version?

To get the free download, go to www.msdn.com (Microsoft Homepage) and look for .NET Framework version 2.0. or click here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&displaylang=en

1.Download and save the dotnetfx.exe setup file in C:\Program Files. It is recommended to save in this directory since this is where ALL programs are being installed and accessed.

3.Check the box for accepting the Terms of the License Agreement.
